Questions for Reflection on The Doctrine of God

  1. Do you think of God as more transcendent/holy (set apart)/mysterious/ ineffable or as immanent/near/relatable?  What passages of scripture, teachings, or experiences have contributed to this conception of God?
  2. What is God’s most essential attribute?  What has shaped your view of this?
  3. Is there any part of human experience that you think is best explained by your view of God?

Great questions here. They touch on some key issues regarding the doctrine of God without being overly simplistic; they salt the bland form of the question. They are relatable and help people tell about their lives. Excellent for small groups! Thanks!
